Football Game Preview: Northern Burlington Greyhounds vs. Trenton Central Tornadoes

The Northern Burlington Greyhounds will take on the Trenton Central Tornadoes on Friday. Northern Burlington will be strutting in after a win while Trenton Central will be coming in after a loss.

Northern Burlington is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Allentown for the full four quarters, racking up a 41-6 victory. With the Greyhounds ahead 28-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Northern Burlington's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brent Walulak, who rushed for 73 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 138 yards on nine of 14 attempts. Gabriel Gamble was Walulak's top target, picking up zero receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Northern Burlington was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 203 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Allentown only rushed for 54.

Meanwhile, Trenton Central suffered their biggest defeat since October 5, 2024 on Friday. They had to suffer through a 35-7 loss at the hands of Eastern. The Tornadoes haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

The win made it two in a row for Northern Burlington and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 20 points in those games. As for Trenton Central, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Northern Burlington won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, slipping by Trenton Central 18-17. Do the Greyhounds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tornadoes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
