Softball Recap: Webber Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Webber waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Pembroke Dragons. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.

Arnie Sturtevant made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game.

In other batting news, Isabella Groves was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Natalie Rath also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Webber kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Webber's record now sits at 7-1. As for Pembroke, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Webber will take on rival Alexander at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Pembroke is set to square off against their familiar foe Attica at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
