Volleyball Recap: Billerica Memorial Comes Up Short

Billerica Memorial had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it five. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chelmsford Lions. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Kendra Marino paced Billerica Memorial's offense, picking up 13 kills. Marino got some help from Meghan Downs and her 14 assists. Emma Johnson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

As for Chelmsford, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Brianna Cairns was the offensive standout of the match as she had 14 digs and three aces. Another player making a difference was Tiffany Vu, who had ten digs and two aces.

Billerica Memorial didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Haverhill on the 24th. As for Chelmsford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Central Catholic on the 24th.
