Softball Recap: Andress Eagles vs. Jefferson Silver Foxes
Andress was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 13-3 walloping at the hands of the Jefferson Silver Foxes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Andress of the 8-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March.
Andress saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arishay Hernandez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Hernandez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Another player making a difference was Yandheliz Perez, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two RBI.
Andress' loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Jefferson, their win ended a 23-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-26.
