Baseball Recap: Maranatha Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Maranatha Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Kansas City East Christian Academy Lions. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Maranatha Christian Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Ingalsbe, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Maranatha Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9-1. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maranatha Christian Academy will challenge Heritage Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, they will take on Plaza Heights Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kansas City East Christian Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Plaza Heights Christian Academy has averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
