Softball Recap: Downers Grove South Takes a Loss

Downers Grove South suffered their biggest loss since April 19th on Monday. They came up short against the Lincoln-Way Central Knights, falling 16-3. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jacklyn Meyers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Victoria Colorato, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Downers Grove South's defeat dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Lincoln-Way Central, their win was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 27-1.

Looking ahead, Downers Grove South will welcome Wheaton-Warrenville South at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lincoln-Way Central, they will face off against Stagg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights are facing the Chargers at the right time seeing as the Chargers are stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
