Basketball Recap: North Smithfield Wins Going Away Against East Greenwich

On Friday, the North Smithfield Northmen strolled past the East Greenwich Avengers with points to spare, taking the game 49-30. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Northmen.

Mya Silveira continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 of 19 en route to 19 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of North Smithfield's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Trowbridge, who posted four points in addition to five boards and three steals.

North Smithfield's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for East Greenwich, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Coming up, North Smithfield is taking a road trip to challenge Smithfield at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. North Smithfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for East Greenwich, they will welcome Cumberland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Cumberland will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something East Greenwich surely won't give up without a fight.
