Basketball Recap: DEMARCUS RICHARDSON's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Elevation Prep Academy over Central Carolina Prep

Elevation Prep Academy came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 82-59 to the Central Carolina Prep Defenders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Defenders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-59 last Saturday.

Several Honey Badgers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was DEMARCUS RICHARDSON, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave RICHARDSON a new career-high in points. DIDIER ILUNGA was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards.

Elevation Prep Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season. The win was the third in a row for Central Carolina Prep, bringing their record for this year to 8-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elevation Prep Academy will head out to challenge Word of God Christian Academy National on Tuesday. As for Central Carolina Prep, they will venture away from home to take on Varsity Opponent at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
