Baseball Recap: Perry Triumphs

Perry's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Warsaw Tigers. This was payback for the Yellowjackets, who suffered an 8-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Parker McGarvey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Maximus Siewert was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Siewert is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Devon Wells, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Perry's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Warsaw, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry will host Avon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Warsaw, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Dansville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
