Basketball Recap: Southeast Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Southeast needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Beaux Shimic. The Southeast Cyclones had just enough and edged the Mitchell Tigers out 36-33 thanks in part to Shimic, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 19 points. Those 19 points gave him a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was TJ Moats, who posted eight points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. He has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last seven times he's played.

Southeast's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Mitchell, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Southeast has already played their next matchup, a 44-30 defeat against Niobrara County on the 25th. As for Mitchell, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kimball at 5:30 p.m. on February 21st.
