Football Recap: Jefferson County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Jefferson County had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it four. They were dealt a 48-12 defeat at the hands of the South Pike Eagles. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-6.

Jaheim Day threw for 69 yards and one TD. Vance Williams was his top target, picking up 72 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Gariyon Bailey rushed for 47 yards.

As for South Pike, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 47 points.

South Pike's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Douglas Wansley, who rushed for 49 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Antwaun Adams made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Jefferson County and South Pike will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time Jefferson County sees the field they'll take on Crystal Springs at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. As for South Pike, their break will end when they face Lawrence County at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
