Baseball Recap: Mineola Yellowjackets vs. Fairfield Eagles
Mineola proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by seven) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Fairfield Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellowjackets have posted since March 7, 2025.
Lawson Ollive made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Ollive was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
