Southern is a perfect 4-0 against Petersburg since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rams will venture away from home to face off against the Vikings at 11:00 a.m. Southern is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Southern lost 9-3 to Northern Garrett on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Huskies: they've now lost three in a row.

Southern saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cade Leader, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

Meanwhile, Petersburg put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against East Hardy as they made off with a 10-2 victory. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

Petersburg pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Southern, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Southern skirted past Petersburg 2-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
