Softball Game Preview: Ashford Yellowjackets vs. Geneva Panthers

The Ashford Yellowjackets will venture away from home to square off against the Geneva Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Ashford fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Dale County on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 7-5.

Meanwhile, Geneva was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 8-1 to Dale County.

Ashford dropped their record down to 7-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Geneva, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

Ashford came up short against Geneva in their previous matchup back in March, falling 6-1. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
