Soccer Recap: Woodland Regional Comes Up Short

Woodland Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Waterbury Career Academy Spartans. If Woodland Regional were looking for revenge after losing 6-1 to Waterbury Career Academy when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Woodland Regional's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Waterbury Career Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-3-2.

Looking ahead, Woodland Regional will host St. Paul Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Waterbury Career Academy, they will square off against Seymour at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Seymour will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Waterbury Career Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
