Soccer Game Preview: The Platte vs. Conestoga

The Platte are taking a road trip to take on the Conestoga Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Conestoga took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on The Platte, who comes in off a win.

The Platte will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Thursday, then bounced right back against Lakeview on Tuesday. The Platte was the clear victor by a 6-0 margin over Lakeview. The contest marked The Platte's most dominant victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Conestoga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 5-1 to Pius X. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Conestoga couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Francisco Real Roman, who's now up to two this season.

Conestoga's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for The Platte, they moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

The Platte took their victory against Conestoga when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for The Platte since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
