Softball Game Preview: Cuero Gobblers vs. Victoria East Titans

The Cuero Gobblers will challenge the Victoria East Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cuero is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

While Cuero's victory against Poth wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Cuero had just enough and edged out Poth 12-11. The win continues a trend for the Gobblers in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won seven in a row.

Cuero got a massive performance out of Reagan Reitz, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave Reitz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Bonewald, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Cuero was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Victoria East beat Randle 8-5 on Tuesday.

Cuero's victory bumped their record up to 9-4-1. As for Victoria East, their win bumped their record up to 4-11.

Cuero skirted past Victoria East 4-3 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Does Cuero have another victory up their sleeve, or will Victoria East turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
