Softball Recap: Sebastian River Beats Treasure Coast for Their Third Straight Victory

Sebastian River gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against the Treasure Coast Titans by a score of 5-2. The win was just business as usual for the Sharks, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Kiera Carow made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits. Carow was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Layla McKinney was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. McKinney is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stolen at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Rily Biggers was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Sebastian River's record now sits at 3-0. As for Treasure Coast, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sebastian River will venture away from home to square off against Astronaut at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Treasure Coast, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will take on Martin County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Martin County's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
