After flying high against Coral Springs last Tuesday, Flanagan came back down to earth. The Flanagan Falcons fell 3-1 to the Piper Bengals on Wednesday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bengals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-14, 15-25, 25-21.
Despite the loss, Flanagan had strong showings from Anais Dumaoal, who had 28 digs and seven aces, and Krystine Escalante, who had nine digs and four aces. Escalante is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season.
Piper found their leader in underclassman Nyla Sowell, who had 23 digs and a kill.
Flanagan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Piper, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
