Basketball Recap: Mountain View Prep Takes a Loss

Mountain View Prep played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Woodruff Wolverines and fell 53-20. While losing is never fun, the Stars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Wolverines are ranked 62nd).

It was another big night for Sadie Burnette, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 boards for Woodruff. That's the most rebounds Burnette has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Jensyn Turner, who posted 13 points along with six assists and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Mountain View Prep and nudges their season record down to 3-18. As for Woodruff, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View Prep will challenge Broome at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Broome has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Woodruff has already played their next matchup (against Chapman), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
