Football Recap: Northwest Christian Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Northwest Christian walked away with it. They snuck past the Walden Grove Red Wolves with a 52-46 win on Friday. Things were looking grim for the Crusaders in the third quarter (they were down by 22) but they stormed back to get the contest.

Laki Wallwork continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 136 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also throwing for 326 yards and three TDs. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. 157 of Wallwork's passing yards were hauled in by Conner Main, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Walden Grove's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gauge Abalos, who threw for 188 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 69 yards and one score. Sebastian Gallardo was another key player, rushing for 107 yards and one TD on only nine carries.

Northwest Christian's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-4. As for Walden Grove, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Northwest Christian will face off against Mohave at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 940 yards in their previous games. Walden Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
