Basketball Preview: Red Lake Warriors vs. Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Wolves

Red Lake is 9-1 against the Wolves since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Red Lake Warriors' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Wolves at 7:15 p.m. on February 6th. Red Lake has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 916 points over their last ten games.

Red Lake pushed their score all the way to 81 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 94-81 to Cass Lake-Bena.

Defeat or not, Red Lake got some senior leadership from Gerald Kingbird jr and Dave Dudley Jr. Kingbird jr went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 35 points and 4 assists, while Dudley Jr. dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Brown, who scored eight points along with six steals.

Meanwhile, Walker-Hackensack-Akeley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Blackduck 79-38 at home. The victory was familiar territory for Walker-Hackensack-Akeley who now have three in a row.

Red Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Walker-Hackensack-Akeley, they pushed their record up to 8-10 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
