Softball Recap: Colonial Comes Up Short

Colonial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 15-6 to the Lake Nona Lions. The Grenadiers were not able to make up for their loss to the Lions from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Montana Ashe made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Ayanee Lopez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Colonial's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Lake Nona, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Colonial wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 10-5 victory against Freedom on the 2nd. As for Lake Nona, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-9 win against Cypress Creek on the 2nd.
