For the first time this season, Ocean Springs will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They are taking a road trip to take on the Biloxi Indians at 7:00 p.m. Ocean Springs will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Ocean Springs is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: Sumrall, who was ranked ninth at the time (Ocean Springs was ranked 19th). Ocean Springs put the hurt on Sumrall with a sharp 11-0 victory on Friday. The contest marked the Greyhounds' most dominant win of the season so far.

Cannon Hensarling made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Hensarling was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, AJ Arguello was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Adam Clower, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Ocean Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Biloxi earned a 4-1 victory over Warren Central on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.
Brody Nguyen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Connor Lofton, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Biloxi is undefeated when Lofton posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristain Haynes, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Ocean Springs pushed their record up to 9-3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Biloxi, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Ocean Springs has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Biloxi struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Ocean Springs came out on top in a nail-biter against Biloxi when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ocean Springs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
