Volleyball Recap: Barr-Reeve Extends Winning Streak to Four

Barr-Reeve came tearing into Saturday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Avon Orioles by a score of 2-0. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory the Orioles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Joslyn (JJ) Knepp paced Barr-Reeve's offense, picking up eight kills. Knepp got some help from Hallie Knepp and her 20 assists. Finally, Joslyn (JJ) was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Despite the loss, Avon saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Stella Hamood had 11 digs and one assist. Hamood is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Barr-Reeve's win bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Avon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That lines up perfectly with their 4-16 record this season.

Barr-Reeve has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Evansville Reitz on the 20th. As for Avon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 0-0 defeat against Evansville North on the 20th.
