Carson pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their rough 80-55 loss to San Pedro might stick with them for a while. Carson has struggled against San Pedro recently, as their contest on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Carson's loss came about despite a quality game from Jacob Ortega, who scored 32 points. Ortega has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last seven times he's played. Curtis Sproull Jr. was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, with a playoff game on the line, West Adams rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Cougars as they made off with a 64-43 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for West Adams.
Carson's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for West Adams, their victory bumped their record up to 12-16.
