Softball Recap: Estero Victorious

Estero's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Lehigh Lightning as they made off with a 22-1 win. The Wildcats have beaten the Lightning the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lightning has come to flipping the script.

Avery Sanchez was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Sophia Consolo was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Estero's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Lehigh, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Estero will venture away from home to face off against Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lehigh, they will head out to challenge Dunbar at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
