Football Recap: Hesperia Scorpions vs. Palmdale Falcons

Hesperia took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Palmdale Falcons by a score of 37-28.

Zamar Malveaux went supernova, rushing for 193 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Xzavier Murgo also helped with two touchdowns in total.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hesperia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 247 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 247 rushing yards in four consecutive games dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hesperia will face off against Jurupa Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Palmdale, they will take on Leuzinger at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
