Volleyball Game Preview: Lakeview Vikings vs. Ord Chanticleers

The Lakeview Vikings will be taking part in a tournament against the Ord Chanticleers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Ord took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lakeview, who comes in off a win.

Lakeview extended their road winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Kenzie Greisen. Everything went the Vikings' way against Scotus on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win thanks in part to Greisen, who had 16 digs and four assists. She has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Lakeview never let Scotus on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-16, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Ord came up short against Kearney Catholic on Thursday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Chanticleers in their meetings with the Stars: they've now lost nine in a row.

Ord took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-14, 25-15.

Ord's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Lakeview, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.

Lakeview was able to grind out a solid win over Ord in their previous matchup back in September of 2023, winning 2-0. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Chanticleers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
