Basketball Recap: Fuquay - Varina Beats Athens Drive for Their Second Straight Win + How To Watch

Athens Drive came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Fuquay - Varina, but Reagan Lindholm wouldn't allow it. The Bengals were the clear victors by a 64-40 margin over the Jaguars on Tuesday with plenty of help from Lindholm, who posted 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Keeli Harrington, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 12 points and five boards. Thanks to that strong game, she now owns an excellent 47.6% shooting accuracy.

Despite the defeat, Athens Drive saw an underclassman step up: freshman Amani Bridges shot 41% from the field on her way to 32 points and seven steals. That was a full 80% of the Jaguars' points, marking the third time in a row Bridges has put up more than a third of the team's points. Sofia Sheppard was another key player, putting up four points along with five rebounds and four steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Fuquay - Varina and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 25 points. As for Athens Drive, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Fuquay - Varina will venture away from home to face off against Enloe at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bengals will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.8 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Athens Drive, they will take on Seventy-First in a tournament on Saturday.
