It was a good run, but Westlake unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 50-35 bruising from the Lone Peak Knights. The match marked the Thunder's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Jackson Taylor went supernova for Lone Peak, going 7 for 11 on his way to 23 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Suarez, who went 6 of 8 en route to 13 points.

Westlake's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 13-5. As for Lone Peak, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westlake will venture away from home to take on Skyridge at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. As for Lone Peak, they are taking a road trip to challenge Pleasant Grove at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Pleasant Grove is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.9 points per game this season.
