Basketball Recap: Moses Brown Falls Short Against Ranked East Providence

Moses Brown faced East Providence in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Quakers took a 76-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Townies.

Despite the defeat, Moses Brown had strong showings from Ra'Jhon Jones, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 32 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, and Colin Mburu, who posted 26 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Blake Harris, who scored four points.

East Providence's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Rodriguez, who had 23 points. Rodriguez has become a key player for the Townies: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 15 points, but 4-5 otherwise. Jayden Vaz was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Moses Brown's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for East Providence, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

Moses Brown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-46 win against East Greenwich on the 16th. As for East Providence, they have also already played their next contest, a 59-41 defeat against Shea on the 14th.
