Volleyball Recap: Hagerstown Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

Hagerstown had already won seven in a row and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Northeastern Knights. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 29-27, 25-27, 23-25, 15-11.

Leading Hagerstown to victory were Harper Fisher and Elly Cheeseman. Fisher had 12 digs, while Cheeseman had 13 digs and ten kills. That's the most digs Fisher has posted since back in August.

Hagerstown's win bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Northeastern, their loss ended a six-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hagerstown will challenge rival Centerville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Northeastern is set to take on their familiar foe Tri at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
