The Terry Sanford Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Scotland Fighting Scots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Terry Sanford knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Scotland likes a good challenge.
On Friday, Terry Sanford was fully in charge, breezing past Purnell Swett 41-8. With the Bulldogs ahead 34-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Terry Sanford can attribute much of their success to Isaiah Washington, who rushed for 108 yards and one score on only six carries, and Jacob Moore, who rushed for 36 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Washington has posted since back in November of 2024.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Terry Sanford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 233 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Purnell Swett only rushed for 68.
Meanwhile, Scotland made easy work of Gray's Creek on Friday and carried off a 42-21 victory. Given the Fighting Scots' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Bears are ranked 200th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Terry Sanford better keep an eye on Tjurian White. He was instrumental in Scotland's win, rushing for 156 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries. White's longest rush was for an impressive 58 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Scotland didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Shylan Harrell, Kymani Atiles, and Keson McNair picked up one apiece. Atiles is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least 14 every time he's taken the field this season. McNair got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Scotland is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.8 points over those games. As for Terry Sanford, their record is now 5-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Terry Sanford has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 162.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Scotland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 220.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Terry Sanford couldn't quite finish off Scotland when the teams last played back in November of 2024 and fell 38-35. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
