Basketball Game Preview: Christian Academy of Knoxville Warriors vs. McMinn County Cherokees + How To Watch

The Christian Academy of Knoxville Warriors will be taking part in a tournament against the McMinn County Cherokees at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Christian Academy of Knoxville is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

Christian Academy of Knoxville had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 31-point drubbing they dealt Berean Christian on Tuesday. The Warriors breezed past Berean Christian to the tune of 66-35. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 23 points or more this season.

Foster Coleman and Jack Shaw were among the main playmakers for Christian Academy of Knoxville as the former went 7-for-12 to rack up 20 points and seven boards and the latter shot 67% from the field en route to 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists. Those 20 points gave Coleman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooks Anderson, who posted seven points and three steals.

Christian Academy of Knoxville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. They are a perfect 5-0 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Meanwhile, McMinn County didn't have too much trouble with Ooltewah on Tuesday as they won 53-38. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cherokees' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Owls are ranked 302nd).

Christian Academy of Knoxville's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for McMinn County, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
