Baseball Game Preview: Rhea County Golden Eagles vs. McMinn County Cherokees

For the second straight game, Rhea County will face off against McMinn County. The Golden Eagles will welcome the Cherokees at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rhea County is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Rhea County didn't have quite enough to beat McMinn County and fell 4-3.

Rhea County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Halston Shaver, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Shaver's first of the season. Casen Kinney was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

The victory made it two in a row for McMinn County and bumps their season record up to 12-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Rhea County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.
