Basketball Game Preview: Tulsa CHEF vs. Pawhuska Huskies

Tulsa CHEF is 0-3 against Pawhuska since December of 2018 but things could change on Monday. Tulsa CHEF will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Pawhuska Huskies at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Tulsa CHEF is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They were beaten by Aspire HomeSchool 67-25. That's two games in a row now that Tulsa CHEF has lost by exactly 42 points.

Meanwhile, Pawhuska scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. The game between them and Frontier didn't end well, with Pawhuska falling 80-61. The Huskies were down 64-44 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the defeat, Pawhuska saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Darien West went 10 of 19 en route to 22 points along with five assists and five boards. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for West. The team also got some help courtesy of Dax Godsey, who posted 14 points.

Even though they lost, Pawhuska was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

This is the second loss in a row for Pawhuska and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Tulsa CHEF, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Tulsa CHEF and Pawhuska were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but Tulsa CHEF came up empty-handed after a 43-42 defeat. Can Tulsa CHEF avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
