Hanover-Horton waltzed into their contest on Monday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Jonesville a 10-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for Hanover-Horton, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Alexyn DuBois made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Halle Swihart, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Tori King, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Hanover-Horton's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Jonesville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Hanover-Horton will face off against Grass Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jonesville, they will challenge Napoleon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Comets are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
