Flag Football Recap: King City Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Carmel + How To Watch

After low-scoring totals in their previous three game, King City brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They secured a 31-26 W over the Carmel Padres on Monday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Mustangs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Padres are ranked 88th).

Katia Slama went supernova, throwing for 296 yards and four TDs while completing 82.9% of her passes, and also rushing for 40 yards and one score. That's the most passing yards she has posted since back in October of 2024. Dania Rodriguez also helped with two touchdowns in total.

King City now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Carmel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.
