Soccer Game Preview: Lewis vs. Mount Vernon

The Lewis Lancers will take on the Mount Vernon Majors at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewis' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Monday just wasn't the day for Lewis' offense. They lost 8-0 to Alexandria City on Monday. While losing is never fun, Lewis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 304th, while Alexandria City are ranked 143rd).

Meanwhile, Mount Vernon came up short against Oakton two weeks ago, falling 5-1.

Lewis' defeat dropped their record down to 0-6-1. As for Mount Vernon, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Lewis suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Mount Vernon when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
