Baseball Recap: Hilliard Darby Takes a Loss

Hilliard Darby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marysville Monarchs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since April 1st.

Hilliard Darby saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Gilkerson, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Hilliard Darby's record is now 7-7. As for Marysville, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

Looking ahead, Marysville will head out on the road to take on Olentangy Berlin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hilliard Darby will be paying especially close attention to the Monarchs' game: after the Monarchs face off against the Bears, they'll take on Hilliard Darby again at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
