Baseball Recap: Anderson County Picks Up 16th Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Anderson County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They never let the Scott Highlanders get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Mavericks, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Anderson County got a great performance from Wil Ridenour as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Ridenour has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Anderson County let Easton Beaty and Alex Bond run wild. Beaty went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run, while Bond went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Bond has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Benson, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Anderson County pushed their record up to 21-9 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Scott, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Anderson County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Highlanders: the pair will be back at it again later today.
