West Mecklenburg hadn't done well against Harding University recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Hawks skirted past the Rams 55-52. For the Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 75-59 victory the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

West Mecklenburg had a senior duo take command as Josiah Bridges shot 70% from the field en route to 19 points and six boards and Arion Walkup dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Josiah Pratt, who posted five points and six boards.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kingston Henry, who earned 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyshawn Tuck, who scored ten points.

West Mecklenburg has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 63.5 points this season. As for Harding University, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, West Mecklenburg will square off against Carson at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Harding University, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against West Charlotte at 7:30 p.m.
