Basketball Recap: Ponder Comes Up Short

Ponder was the 49-40 winner over Brock when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Lions took a 60-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles on Thursday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Ponder lost, don't look at Kannon Clark. Despite the final result, he posted 13 points and five boards. Clark is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 47% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Blake Durham, who put up 14 points.

Ponder's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Brock, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Coincidentally, Ponder and Brock will both be playing Tournament Opponent the next time they take the court. The Eagles will host Tournament Opponent at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, while the Lions will head out to face them at 10:20 a.m. on Friday.
