Softball Recap: Smiths Station Comes Up Short

Smiths Station was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Saraland Spartans. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2018.

Smiths Station's loss dropped their record down to 5-16-1. As for Saraland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Smiths Station didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-3 defeat against Daphne on the 5th. As for Saraland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 5-1 loss against Baker on the 5th.
