Basketball Recap: Victory Baptist Academy's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Victory Baptist Academy hadn't done well against Elk Valley Christian recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Victory Baptist Academy Saints enjoyed a cozy 39-22 win over Elk Valley Christian. The victory was nothing new for the Saints as they're now sitting on five straight.

Victory Baptist Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaydan Mooney out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 boards. Mooney has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Ward, who posted ten points.

Victory Baptist Academy pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.8 points per game. As for Elk Valley Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Victory Baptist Academy and Heritage Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Elk Valley Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Greater Beckley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
