Football Recap: Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson Piles Up the Points Against Shepherd

After only nine points in their last game, Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson made sure to put some points up on the board against Shepherd on Friday. Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson blew past Shepherd 40-6. With Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson ahead 28-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rylee Brusse out in front who picked up 75 receiving yards, and also rushed for 45 yards. Brusse got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 70 yards. Dawson Hammond also helped with three touchdowns in total.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Kenan LaBrie was the leader with three. He is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Hammond got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Shepherd, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson and Shepherd will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Mustangs will face off against rival Conrad at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Shepherd is set to challenge their familiar foe Red Lodge/Belfry/Roberts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
