Basketball Recap: Phoenix Country Day Extends Home Winning Streak to 28

Phoenix Country Day extended their home winning streak to 28 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Olivia Owens. The Phoenix Country Day Eagles blew past the Veritas Prep Falcons, posting a 67-38 win thanks in part to Owens, who almost dropped a triple-double on 19 points, 12 rebounds, and nine steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Aila Kaibara was another key player, going 7 for 16 en route to 17 points and eight boards. The match was her fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Phoenix Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Veritas Prep, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-8.

Phoenix Country Day has already played their next game, a 62-27 win against Flagstaff on the 17th. As for Veritas Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-26 defeat against Horizon Honors on the 21st.
