Baseball Game Preview: Northview Vikings vs. Esperanza Aztecs

The Northview Vikings will take on the Esperanza Aztecs at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Northview has four straight victories, Esperanza has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Northview's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Thursday, when they got past Charter Oak's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Vikings walked away with a 10-6 win over the Chargers.

Meanwhile, Esperanza didn't have quite enough to beat Adelanto on Tuesday and fell 11-10.

Esperanza got a massive performance out of Ian Gladue, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Jacob Santos was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Northview pushed their record up to 12-9-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Esperanza, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
