Basketball Recap: Waterford Beats Clay for Their 12th Straight Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Waterford had no problem doing just that on Monday. They put the hurt on the Clay Panthers with a sharp 44-22 win. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 21 points or more this season.

The victory was the 12th in a row for Waterford, bringing their record for this year to 22-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points over those games. As for Clay, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.

Looking ahead, Waterford will face off against Notre Dame at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Notre Dame will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Waterford surely won't give up without a fight. Clay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
